5th Annual B Street Rib Off Benefits American Cancer Society

LITTLE ROCK, ARK.; OCTOBER 25, 2012 – The 5th annual B Street Rib Off will take place on Saturday, November 10th at MacArthur Park in Little Rock. This year’s event will feature a BBQ cooking competition that includes ribs, chicken and side dishes. All proceeds from the B Street Rib Off will benefit the Arkansas chapter of the American Cancer Society. The competition winners will receive a trophy.

The early registration deadline is October 27 and includes two event shirts for $75, however teams may enter up to November 9th without the free shirts. Side dish competitors will register on the day of the competition for $10. The public is invited to judge the side dish competition for a $5 donation. Event organizers expect to donate over $1,500 to the American Cancer Society after the event.

“It feels great to reach this point. We knew that we had enough interest to make this a philanthropy event and we finally did it,” said event founder, Matthew Ross. “We had a goal of reaching the nonprofit status by the 5 th year and we’re excited to have reached that goal early.”

The B Street Rib Off, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2008 by Jason Brown, Justin Hinton and Matthew Ross as a friendly competition to establish the best rib cook in the group. For more information, search B Street Rib Off on Facebook.
